How to choose an AI email assistant in the UAE: a 7-point checklist

Arabic support, PDPL, read-only access, independent security checks: seven questions to ask before you let any AI assistant into your inbox.

Most AI email tools are built for US inboxes: English only, US data handling, dollar pricing. A UAE inbox looks different. It mixes Arabic and English, carries client and regulatory data, and runs across a Sunday-to-Thursday and Monday-to-Friday week. Use these seven questions to compare tools before you hand over access.

1. Does it work in Arabic, not just support it?

Test it on a real Arabic thread, a mixed Arabic-English thread, and a message with an Arabic date or amount. A tool that only handles English will miss a large share of your actual requests.

2. What access does it ask for?

Read-only OAuth is the safest model: the tool can read mail to find tasks but cannot send, delete or change anything. Be wary of tools that request full mailbox control for a feature that only needs reading.

3. Is the security independently verified?

A landing page claim is not proof. Look for a third-party assessment, such as Google’s CASA security assessment for apps that connect to Google accounts, and ask to see the validation letter.

4. How does it handle data under UAE PDPL?

Ask what is stored, where it is processed, who can access it and how deletion works. Prefer vendors that do not keep raw message bodies and that put the answers in writing.

5. Does it find tasks or only write replies?

Drafting replies saves typing, but the costly mistake is the request you never noticed. Choose a tool that extracts the action item and the deadline, then sorts them by priority.

6. Does it connect to your calendar?

A deadline in an email should become a reminder where you already look. Check that dates are written to your Google or Outlook calendar automatically.

7. Is there local pricing and support?

  • Billing in AED, with no surprise currency conversion.
  • Support available during UAE working hours.
  • Team plans with per-seat pricing that scales past ten users.

If a tool passes all seven, it is worth a trial. Taskify was built around these criteria, and the free plan lets you test it on your own inbox before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

Does an AI email assistant need to read all my email?

It needs read access to work, but how it gets that access matters. Prefer tools that use read-only OAuth, do not store raw message bodies, and can show independent security verification.

Do AI email assistants understand Arabic?

Quality varies widely. Test with a real Arabic thread, a mixed Arabic-English thread and an Arabic date or amount before you commit. Taskify processes both languages in the same inbox.

Is an AI email assistant compliant with UAE PDPL?

Compliance depends on how the vendor collects, stores and shares data, not on the category of tool. Ask for the data-handling terms, the processing locations and the deletion process in writing.
